What should I prepare before a doorstep service?

Quick answer

Very little: a parking spot with space to work around the vehicle and, ideally, a plug point. If you live in a gated community, allow gate access for the mechanic. Having your last service invoice or noting the symptoms you have noticed also shortens the diagnosis.

The mechanic brings everything else — tools, oil, filters, common spares, a drip tray and a compressor. If a tap is not available, a dry or low-water wash is used, which is normal in apartment basements.

Do you need my vehicle documents?

No — the mechanic records the odometer and registration number from the vehicle itself.

What if my basement has no power socket?

The job can still run; a plug point simply makes oil top-ups and some tools faster. Mention it at booking so the mechanic comes prepared.
