What Happens During a General Bike Service

Ride N Care, Bangalore · updated 22 Oct 2026 · 7 min read

Quick answer: A general bike service at your doorstep takes 60–90 minutes and covers a 25-point inspection: engine oil, oil and air filter, spark plug, brakes, chain, clutch and throttle play, battery, lights and tyres — ending with a wash and an inspection report you approve before paying. Anything beyond this scope is quoted separately in writing.

Before the mechanic arrives

The arrival window is confirmed when you book. Ride N Care operates 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM, seven days a week in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

  • •Share your bike model and the service you booked, plus parking details
  • •The written quote arrives on WhatsApp before the visit
  • •Park where the mechanic can work on one side — a single bay is enough
  • •Keep the service book handy if the bike is in warranty

What the 25-point inspection report contains

The report is the point of the service. It lists each checked item with its condition — okay, watch, or replace — so you know what was done and what is coming. Items flagged 'replace' come with a written price; nothing is replaced without that approval.

  • •Oil condition and level verdict
  • •Brake pad thickness, front and rear
  • •Chain elongation and sprocket condition
  • •Battery health reading
  • •Tyre tread and pressure
  • •Cable play, lights, horn and switches

What is not included in a general service

Engine oil itself (unless you booked the General Service + Engine Oil package — ₹1,249 up to 199cc), replacement parts, and any repair discovered during inspection. Battery replacement, brake pads, chain-sprocket sets and filters are parts billed at MRP after your approval. Work needing a bench — clutch, electrical rewinds, bodywork — is quoted with transport arranged.

After the service

  • •Digital invoice on WhatsApp listing labour and parts
  • •45-day service warranty on eligible repair work, in writing
  • •Manufacturer warranty applies to parts fitted where applicable
  • •Next-service reminder based on your actual km and use

FAQs

How long does a doorstep general service take?

60–90 minutes for most bikes and scooters up to 199cc, including the wash. Higher-capacity bikes and jobs with engine oil replacement take longer — 75–120 minutes for the oil package.

Do I need to be present the whole time?

No. You need to approve the quote and inspect the final work; between those, the mechanic works in your parking bay. Many customers approve on WhatsApp and check the inspection report at the end.

Is the wash included?

Yes — a wash finishes every general service. It is a rinse-down suitable for the parking-bay setting, not a full detailing.

What if the inspection finds something serious?

You get a written description and price for the additional work, and you decide. Nothing beyond the booked service is charged without your approval.
